"The Prestige" movie is mind-blowing!

'The Prestige' movie came out in 2006. Wonderful actors like Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johanson, and Michael Caine have rocked their roles. I'm still surprised that I never came across this movie until recently. I'll be honest! Given Christopher Nolan's birthday recently I came across a lot of posts about his movies. I have already watched 'Inception', 'Interstellar', 'Dunkirk', and of course Dark Knight trilogy. I was honestly intrigued to see 'The Prestige' on the list and downloaded the movie immediately.

I'm always marveled by Nolan's works. I love to get awed at the end of the movie and having this mind-blowing experience. So I started the movie with high expectations!!

The movie started interestingly with the investigation of a murder. It slowly revealed how the rivalry between the two main characters started. I was making guesses and I was trying to like one guy over the other. But honestly, one thing that happened to me was I couldn't choose. They were both ambitious and competitive. I gave up on the guys and started to focus on the story. I won't spoil the movie. Everybody deserves to get mindblown just like me!

I'm no one to judge Nolan's work or the amazing actors mentioned above. But to put it in one word the movie is 'extremely well-executed'.

The movie is based on a novel of the same name by Christopher Priest. But the story has been changed a considerable amount for the movie.

The movie revolves around two magicians Robert Angier(Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden(Christian Bale) who became rivals after one mishap. They are both competitive and are both trying to pull each other down and become the greatest magician. The key to that is a magic trick called "The Transported man". This one trick drives the whole movie. They are both willing to go to lengths for their causes. But how is the movie going to end? Who will win?

One thing to be specially mentioned is how the script fooled us more than once from finding the mystery and you only realize that at the end of the movie!
